Under Section 32A(1) of the Land Code, no person, whether or not he is the lawful proprietor or occupier of the land, may remove any rock material or any commodities manufactured there from such land, except under and in accordance with a licence issued to him by the Superintendent.

 

Any person removing any rock materials or any commodities therefrom from any land without a licence or contrary to any terms and conditions of a licence issued under Section 32a(1) of the Land Code shall be guilty of an offence: Penalty a fine of five thousand dollars. 

 

It is policy of Government that Land Custody Development Authority (LCDA) should now be entrusted with managing the supply and demand of the sand and gravel resources of the State. In order to enable the Corporation to do so properly all licence to extract sand and gravel as far as practicable be issued to the Corporation through its varous wholly owned subsidiaries. 

 

All application for licences to extract sand and gravel by private companies and individual should not be processed but the applicant must be advised to communicate with LCDA or its subsidiaries concerned direct if they are interested in the business connected with sand and gravel. 

 

Application for renewal of existing licences and any other application as directed by Director of Land and Survey should be referred to Headquarters for consideration.
