INTRODUCTION TO LAND AND SURVEY INFORMATION SYSTEM (LASIS)
The development of the Land And Survey Information System (LASIS) was started in 1984 when the Chief Minister of Sarawak, YAB Datuk Patinggi Taib Mahmud, assigned YB Datuk Dr. George Chan, as the Chairman of the State Computerisation Committee to look into computerisation in the Department.
LASIS consist of Four (4) Application Systems:-
The benefits expected such as improvements in the work productivity and availability of information for the management to better administrate land for development purposes. In the process, users will be more aware and gain exposure on the capability of IT.
LASIS has evolved into three (3) versions before it reached its matured stage to be replicated to all the eleven (11) Divisional Offices throughout the State.
