History Of SCS System

 

1.  SCS LASIS I

  • Launched in the year of 1988 in Kuching Division.

  • It used RDBMS (Retrieval DataBase Management System) for the Survey Computation Database and Fortran Programming Language for the Survey Computations.

  • The Survey Computation System comprised of one TCDB (Textual Cadastral DataBase) which kept all Survey Computation Data and the CMS had two databases, i.e. DCDB (Digitised Cadastral DataBase) and NCDB (Numeric Cadastral Database).
     

2.  SCS LASIS II

  • Launched in the year of 1994 in Miri Division.

  • It used Oracle Database for the Survey Computation Database and GenaMap System as the interface with C programming as the background for Survey Computations.

  • The Survey Computation System was linked to CMS (Cadastral Mapping System) which also used the same GenaMap System and also comprised of DCDB and NCDB.

 

3.  SCS LASIS III

  • Launched in the year of 1998 in Kuching Division and is known as SCSL3.

  • It was developed in user interface-driven Visual C++ and integrated with the Oracle Object-relational DataBase Model.

  • The Survey Computation System was linked to the CMS2004 (Cadastral Mapping System) which was also developed with the same Oracle DataBase System.

 

4.  Overview of SCSL3

      4 formats Of Data Entry :

  1. ASCII - American Standard Code for Information Interchange.

  2. CPS - Cadastral Processing System, in binary format.

  3. Ebook - Electronic Field Book, in binary format, where the observed field data was captured in electronic device, such as PDA.

  4. Manual Field Book - Hand writing or booking on the physical paper-made Field Book.
