LASIS

In 1992, it was agreed that Miri Division will be the next Division after Kuching. However, the Department has decided to enhance the LASIS implemented in Kuching using the Client-server technology.

• LASIS II was utilizing ORACLE RDMS for the textual database while the spatial Database was on Genamap. The application systems were developed using ORACLE Form  and Report, Pro C, Visual Basic, Borland C++, and Genamap Scripts.

• LASIS II is running SUN Solaris version 2.5 Operating System on a SUN Server linking to PCs as clients.

• LASIS II implemented in Miri on 1 August 1996.  It was replicated to Sibu on 2nd January 1998.
