Activities
The State Government have classified the work connected with public relation as top priority. In accordance with this policy, the Minister and the Government has directed that the Department establish a Public Relation Branch in order to explain to the people/community leaders/Ahli-ahli Yang Berhormat of the Department functions and specific projects and the roles played in regard to the Ahli-Ahli Yang Berhormat.
Therefore, the Public Relation Branch was formed on 21.02.2000 and is directly responsible to Director. The branch is headed by Abdul Halim Haji Sabil, Senior Land Officer who is also in charge of the Prosecution and Licensing Division in the Enforcement Branch. At the moment, the Head of Public Relation Branch is assisted by four officers and staffs at the Headquarter and nine personnel at the divisional level.
Prior to the establishment of the Public Relation Branch, the task of disseminating information to the general public has been entrusted to the assigned front liners from Headquarter and Divisional office. Series of Public Relation Courses were conducted to help the front liners to improve communication skills and public related issues.
At this stage, the branch is working closely with Assistant Director and Superintendents in programming its activities. The focus of these activities will be organizing and attending dialogues and lectures on general land related subjects and specific projects for the targeted groups, Government Agencies/Department, Ahli-ahli Yang Berhormat and the people in general.
