The Planning Branch is responsible to regulate uses of lands and buildings according to sound town and country planning principles and in line with the State's "politics of development" policy. The Planning Branch, at the Headquarters level, has four  main sections, namely :

  Development Control Section

  Siting Section

  Urban Design and Regional Planning Section

  Engineering Section

A Planning Branch also exists in each of the Land and Survey Department's eleven Divisional Offices.
